Chuck and I met in August of 2009 at an LDS Fraternity Summer Luau in Salt Lake City. I was playing soccer with some friends on the grass, and Chuck joined us. After a very heated match, we started talking at a table when we noticed we have the same cell phone. Later that evening, Chuck and his friend Parker came over to my house (parents' house at the time) to hang out and play Guitar Hero. We went on our way not really thinking much about that night other than making new friends... I started nursing school that Fall and was not really looking for a serious commitment with that going on. Chuck and his frat were having a date night at the Utah State Fair. He called me friend Heather and asked her to go with him. However, she was busy. He ended up calling her back and asking for my number. (Not always smart to call a girl for another girl's number just after asking her out) He ended up calling and asking me, but I too also already had plans. Time went by, and I kept running into Chuck at Institute functions and LDS Fraternity/Sorority activities. I thought man this boy is cute and I want to get to know him! So I found the courage to ask him if he would want to go bowling sometime. General Conference weekend after the Priesthood session, me, Chuck and some friends went bowling. I loved how energetic and hilarious he was! He wasn't afraid to be who he is around others. Plus, I loved his hot, yellow and sportsy Mazda! We had a great time. Not a date, just a hang out. I wasn't expecting a date but I certainly wanted one. That next Monday, I get a very strange text message from Chuck. "Hey, do you like meat?" I thought, ummm... okay... "Yeah, why?" Chuck explained that his cousin Callie was in town and wanted to take him out to dinner for his birthday but that he should bring a date. So... we had our first date at the Rodizio Grill at Trolley Square. It was a very creative way to ask a girl to dinner! I remember we listened to Michael Buble in the car on the way and Chuck sang along. I love his music and I fell in love with Chuck's singing! I was going on a cruise for 10 days and was SURE that Chuck would be taken by another girl when I got back. He did text me while I was away, however it cost too much money to respond back. So I waited a very long 10 days, and got on the ball! The Monday I was back, I asked Chuck on a second date to the Haunted Forest and he said yes. Later that night, Chuck gave me an amazing and enduring back rub with an expectation... a kiss. However, I caught on to his plan and denied him the privilege! He was frustrated but agreed to go on a third date with me to the dance performance, Thriller, and finally earned his kiss! The rest is history. We dated for a short amount of time, were engaged for a long amount of time, and were married on July 26, 2010 in the Salt Lake Temple. I am so grateful I found the man of my dreams who constantly makes me laugh and smile! We currently live in the Married Student Housing up at the University of Utah since last August and plan to be here for a couple more years.
